Microneedling

Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is an advanced therapy effective for treating skin issues such as acne scars, wrinkles, skin laxity, and dullness. Using a 20-24k gold device to create tiny micro-perforations, this treatment activates your body’s natural healing response.

Included in our microneedling procedures we incorporate a proprietary  topical (a blend of vitamins, minerals, peptides, and antioxidants) to boost skin repair, tighten and brighten, stimulate collagen production, and rejuvenate the skin’s matrix. This innovative approach allows us to provide exceptional results that set us apart.

TWO TYPES OF MICRONEEDLING: COSMETIC or MEDICAL

The primary difference between cosmetic and medical microneedling lies in the depth of needle penetration., all microneedling treatments are conducted by highly trained and licensed medical professionals and registered nurses.

Cosmetic Microneedling: The needle depth is 0.1mm to 0.5mm.  This will brighten the skin tone and enhances the effectiveness of most topical skin treatments, but it doesn't reach the actual blood vessels.

Medical Microneedling: The needle depth is 1.5mm to 2.0mm.  Although requiring topical anesthetics, this procedures pierces blood vessels to rapidly release growth factors for collagen production, improves light scars, wrinkles, skin laxity, stretch marks, and evens skin tone and texture.

Microneedling is generally considered safe as an aesthetic procedure.

THE PROCEDURE:

Preparation: The skin is cleansed, and a topical anesthetic (numbing) is applied to minimize discomfort.

Microneedling: A device with sterile, tiny needles is gently moved across the skin, puncturing the epidermis at various depths, depending on the skin’s needs and the targeted areas.  The entire process typically takes 20-30 minutes, depending on the treatment area.

Aftercare: After microneedling, the skin may be red and sensitive, similar to a mild sunburn. Healing serums or hydrating masks may be applied to soothe the skin and promote healing.

Preparation:

  • AVOID IRRITANTS: Refrain from using exfoliants, retinoids, and acid-based products for a few days before the treatment.

  • NO TANNING: Avoid sun exposure and tanning as it can increase skin sensitivity.

  • STOP CERTAIN MEDICATIONS: We recommend avoiding anti-inflammatory medications, like ibuprofen, as they may interfere with the body’s natural inflammatory response, which is needed for healing.

Benefits

  • Improved Skin Texture: Microneedling can reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and large pores.

  • Reduction of Scars: Effective for treating acne scars, surgical scars, and stretch marks.

  • Increased Collagen Production: Boosts collagen, which is essential for youthful, resilient skin.

  • Hyperpigmentation Reduction: Can even out skin tone and reduce the appearance of dark spots.

  • Enhanced Absorption of Skin Products: The micro-injuries help topical products penetrate deeper for better efficacy.

Risks

  • Redness and Swelling: Common side effects that usually subside within a few days.

  • Infection: There is a risk of infection if the procedure isn’t done in a sterile environment or with proper aftercare.

  • Skin Irritation: Some individuals may experience peeling, dryness, or irritation.

  • Hyperpigmentation: People with darker skin tones may experience post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation if not done correctly.
